The Holidays Are Almost Here!

With a chill in the air and radio stations teasing us with holiday sounds, most most of us can tell the holidays are right around the corner. One familiar holiday story that most everyone knows is ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

But have you ever seen it as a ballet? If not, you should!

The CARE Ballet is very excited to bring this familiar tale to life again this holiday season. Their production is just 60 minutes long, the perfect length for young attenders.

‘Twas The Night Before Christmas… Set to Music and Performed Through Dance

This original ballet, based on Clement C. Moore’s familiar poem and set to familiar Christmas music, has become a holiday tradition in Grand Rapids. Mischievous mice, dancing stockings, and Santa with his sleigh and prancing reindeer combine to create a magical holiday treat. The performance includes an opportunity to visit with Santa and the cast on stage after the show, so don’t forget your camera!

On the Night Before Christmas, we spend the evening with my mother in law enjoying a nice meal together and opening a few gifts. When my family and I arrive back home, we get in our jammies and sit on the couch together and read Twas The Night Before Christmas together. My husband, 10 yr old son, and myself each take turns reading a page to my youngest son who is 2 yrs. Then we set out cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer alongside a cup of milk in our special Santa mug. Then its off to bed to dream of sugar plum fairies!
