The 3 Mile Project in Walker is great if you have older kids–middle and high school. It’s a safe, fun place for older kids to hang and have a ton of fun. It’s a huge warehouse converted to teen friendly activities: movie theaters, skate park, arcade, pool tables, sports courts and a cafe. It was started by a pastor. Thursdays are for 5th and 6th graders, Fridays are for 7th and 8th graders and Saturdays are for 9th-12th graders. I think it’s only $5 per visit. Adults are not allowed to stay so with the grade splits and that fact, it’s very safe. It is truly West Michigan’s best kept secret. Check it out at 3mp.org

The Lost City in Holland is lots of fun. They have arcade games, laser tag, mini golf, and mini bowling. It seems the list is gear towards younger kiddos. Are there other good places to bring kids 10-14?

Could you tell us more about the Kent District Libraries and which ones have the things listed on the blog? I checked out their site a bit but couldn’t find info on the Air bounce, Cushion Climb, Colorful Tunnels and Slides, Ball Pools, Swinging Bridges and Spider Nets, Foam Forest and Trolley Run, Rope Climbs, Ring Cross and More. Thanks!

The Kroc Center has PreSchool Tuesdays. The gym is set with kid friendly equipment and there is the pool. The great thing is they don’t charge for the adults, just $5 per child. It is a great way to spend a winter morning.

FYI..Blast Factory will be closing its doors October 27th. I went there yesterday for a playdate and there is a sign on the door and an employee also mentioned the closing.

    • Blast Factory and Eccentric Entertainment March 31, 2013 at 5:12 pm - Reply

Even though Blast Factory has closed, another leg of its company, Eccentric Entertainment, is continuing its annual spring break tradition of producing Kidz Fest at the DeltaPlex. The entire building is taken over and filled with more than 50 activities for kids, including inflatables, Laser Tag, obstacle courses, huge slides, rides, games, the bungee Power Jump, a 200’ zip line, a rock climbing wall, the best surfing on land, a 40’ Ferris wheel, a carousel, a mechanical bull–just to mention a few. Live entertainment is included: an exotic animal petting zoo, Animal Magic, Bubble Wonders, Balsters Magic and illusion–many internationally known performers. Kidzville is an area reserved for those who are 7 years old and under. For more information and a $2 off admission coupon, visit these sites: http://www.Facebook.com/kidzfestgrandrapids and http://www.kidzfestgrandrapids.com. Come and see us. We’d love to see how your kids have grown.
