Kids can Trade Backyard Play for Real Life Lasers
My kids love running around the house and yard, wielding Nerf guns and toy swords, fighting invisible bad guys. Or sometimes real bad guys (aka a sibling). And while their imaginations soar as they carry out battle plans, there’s something incredibly satisfying about actually shooting your sister with a laser.
Battle GR is bringing kid (and adult!) tactical strategy games to life, complete with laser guns and a variety of customizable missions. THIS is the activity for my kids!
“Our mission is to bring fun back into family. Get them away from the screens – let’s interact with each other!” says owner Jenny Lashuay.
Leaving out the black lights and faser guns, Battle GR is purely tactical laser tag.
“Ours is an army replica gun. We have six different missions that we play so it’s not boring for kids or adults.”
“We’re very different than anything else in West Michigan,” she says.
Their facility on Lake Michigan Drive in Standale just opened in October, and is open to individual groups and also parties. They customize the experience based on the players’ ages and abilities. While Jenny recommends it for ages 6 and up, she’s seen younger kids come play with their siblings.
“We’ve even seen someone over 60 playing!” she said.
BattleGR is open on the weekends for walk-in play. Jenny urges families to reserve a time spot to ensure availability, as they will usually limit play to 10-14 players at a time.
Birthday Party for the Books
My daughter is going to a laser tag party this weekend and the anticipation has been building. I can’t wait to see her face after I pick her up. (I also can’t wait to hear if she decimates all the boys – girls love laser tag, too!)
A laser tag party is an easy birthday party hit, which Jenny can attest to, as they host a LOT of birthday parties on the weekends.
“What people love about us is that when you do a birthday party at our facility, you basically have the whole place (to yourself),” says Jenny. You bring the cake and BattleGR will serve the food, drinks and cake.
There’s a party room for guests, and in the lobby they have board games for kids to play while they wait their turn to pick up a laser gun.
“Parents can (also) watch the kids in the arena via tv,” she adds.
Mobile Laser Tag Comes to YOU
Battle GR is originally a mobile laser tag company, traveling around the area for birthday parties, company and school events, and more. They can set up most anywhere, indoors or outdoors.
They offer discounts for birthday parties during the week, and also host corporate events, fundraisers and more.
Basically, if you want to play laser tag, BattleGR can make that happen, just about anywhere!
