You’re Not Hardcore Unless You Take your Kids to See School of Rock at DeVos
This Energetic, Interactive Stage Show Will Inspire You
Broadway GR has brought us perfect performance for kids this season. They’ve coupled a high powered performance of a Broadway Musical with a rock concert. Throw in a storyline that any kid can identify with, and it’s a no brainer.
Don’t Let Your Kids Miss School of Rock
What started out as a popular movie starring Jack Black has turned into an inspiring stage performance that will entertain you, no matter your age. Last night the entire audience at DeVos Performance Hall was swept up in the moment as a dozen kids amazed us with their incredible talent.
School of Rock originally centers on adult Dewey Finn’s problem of the legend of the rent being way past due. But as charming elementary students are brought into the picture, School of Rock turns into an anthem for kids who wish their parents would see them for who they really are.
And the best part?
The kids are really playing their instruments.
Acting aside, when the instruments come out and they start to sing, you’ll be blown away. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute that those kids were bringing us music. According to Broadway GR, it’s “musical theater’s first-ever kids rock band playing their instruments live on stage.”
Tell Your Kids to Cheer and Clap Their Hearts Out
My husband said he was a little confused at the end when the kids performed in the concert in the story. Had we transformed into concert goers? Could we cheer and clap?
Heck Yeah! Get into this show, guys!
A major migraine yesterday had me thinking of giving my tickets to a friend. Who can enjoy a rock concert with a headache?
Turns out, I can. Once the show started I did not care how I felt. My voice was hoarse from my cold but I still whooped and cheered when the kids finally took stage for Battle of the Bands.
This show is super fun and would be a treat for kids ages 9 and up. Seriously, don’t miss this one.
