Find Tons of Early Childhood Resources in One Place on April 29
Need help navigating the waters of early childhood?
I remember when my daughter was born, wishing she came with an instruction manual. I had NO idea what I was doing…and you know what? Years later, that hasn’t changed much! There are endless questions we need answers to as parents, and the decisions on education, childcare, health and development seem overwhelming at times, don’t they?
So what could be better than having a ton of preschool, childcare and other family resource information all in one place, at one time? – Having that information with Clifford the Big Red Dog and Daniel Tiger, of course!
That’s right – the annual Play Learn Explore an Early Childhood Resource Fair is happening on Saturday, April 29, and your kids can meet these characters while you learn about area services and resources for early childhood.
Petting Zoo, Kevin Kammeraad, Fire Engines and More!
In addition to meeting Clifford the Big Red Dog and Daniel Tiger, your little ones will also enjoy:
- Puppeteer Kevin Kammeraad
- The Music Lady Beverly Meyer
- Maranda from WOTV-4
- Fun Zones, including parachute games, sensory play, toddler obstacle course, dress-up, etc.
- Petting zoo with baby animals
- Storytellers from Kent District Library
- Mascots from local sports teams
- Fire engines and K-9 units
- …and more!
Parenting Little Ones is not Easy – Thankfully, There is Help
The fair will be open house style from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM and will feature over 20 child care centers and preschools (sign up for FREE 4 year-old preschool), the health department (free vision and hearing testing!), child development experts, and many other community agencies (i.e. Bright Beginnings, Family Futures) that assist families with young children.
Terese Smith, Program Director for Great Start to Quality Kent Resource Center says, “We are looking forward to celebrating April, Month of the Young Child, with families at Play Learn Explore an Early Childhood Resource Fair.
“Parents who attended last year had a terrific time learning about resources they need and the children were interested in playing in all of the Fun Zones.”
The first 400 families to check out the fair will receive a goodie bag full of special offers and information from the fair’s sponsors and exhibitors.
Don’t miss this opportunity to check out area options and resources for your little ones on Saturday, April 29 from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Kent Career Tech Center at 1655 East Beltline Ave NE.
