Kids Will Love the Imagination and Silliness on Stage
There is something magical about a child’s sense of wonder. And in Broadway GR’s Finding Neverland, you not only witness it on the stage, but on the face of your child sitting next to you, too.
With a sprinkle of pixie dust, a touch of silliness and a lot of imagination, this movie-turned-musical is the perfect recipe for a stage performance to experience with your kids.
On a one-on-one date with my 11-year old son, we attended the opening night of Finding Neverland. We both agree that this show was a fun twist on the Peter Pan story. We loved seeing how our favorite characters like Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and Peter Pan came to be.
Take the Second Star to the Right, and Straight on Till Morning
This musical spun from the Academy Award-winning film Finding Neverland introduces you to playwright J.M. Barrie. He crosses paths with a widow and her four young sons: Jack, George, Michael, and Peter, and is drawn into their mischievous play and bright imaginations. This is where Neverland is born.
I love seeing a story unfold and come to life before your eyes. And with moving songs, funny antics and beautiful choreography, Finding Neverland takes you on an adventure to someplace magical.
The animated Disney classic, Peter Pan, and the early 90’s movie, Hook, are personal favorites. So watching this musical with my son was special. My preteen especially loved the scene where Captain Hook, Barrie, and Pirates sang the song “Stronger.” And the whole audience was smitten with a sweet four-legged friend that appeared throughout the performance.
Finding Neverland brings a new perspective to the versions of Peter Pan from my childhood. So bring your kids, take a journey, and discover a story that brings out the child in you!
