What You Can Expect at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre Summer Camps

Because HSRT is a professional theatre, kids work with professional theatre artists from around the country in camps themed around the season’s shows.

Hope Summer Repertory Theatre Summer Camps Session Details

Elephant and Piggie’s “We Are Going to  Learn About Theatre” (3-young 5s/ K-2): Kids explore their imagination in Elephant and Piggie’s world using drawing, movement, verbalization, and team-building games.

Play it Cool…Real Cool with “West Side Story” (K-2 /grades 3-6): Students will be introduced to acting, singing, and dancing by learning a show-stopping number straight from West Side Story while building confidence, work ethic, focus, and cooperation in this high-energy workshop.

Improv Camp (grades 3-8): Learn elements of storytelling, teamwork, and creative collaboration in this week-long introduction to Improv! Improv Camp will give students the tools and freedom to let their zaniest, silliest ideas become cooperative scenes and stories.

Fractured Fairy Tales (grades 3-8): Post-apocalyptic Rumpelstiltskin? Sure! The story of Cinderella told entirely by robots? Sounds great! Students will be given a theme at the beginning of the week, and the opportunity to develop, write, and perform their own original take on time-honored stories.

Conservatory Series (grades 5-7/grades 8-12): This series will cover all aspects of performance, and provides students with an opportunity to develop advanced performance skills

High School Theatre Apprentice Company: This intensive is geared toward high schoolers looking to go deeper with their skills, and gain experience working with a professional theatre company.

Emerging Artist Initiative – Theatre for Young People by Young People: In this audition-based, tuition-based program for high schoolers, students will be immersed in a professional theatre and will have professional director, designers and actors to guide them through the production.
