Koetsier’s is a Cure for Autumn Obsession

It’s almost September, which means I can officially begin basking in my favorite season of the year. HOORAY! Cue the chunky knit sweaters, cozy scarves, pumpkin muffins, crisp apples, hay rides and sugar-dusted doughnuts. Sigh…

I’ve been a fan of autumn since I was a little kid. I remember the first time I noticed the distinct smell of fall. Do you know what I’m talking about? The crisp, cold, fresh air has this intoxicating smell that’s made up of colorful, crunchy leaves and magic, I can only assume.

As a momma to two little boys, I feel compelled to share my love for fall with them and what better way than going with friends to Koetsier’s First of Fall Play Days?!

Weather-Proof Play Date Fun!

One of my favorite things about planning a play date at Koetsier’s is that your playdate is NOT weather dependent. Koetsier’s is chock-full of indoor fun for your kids, so even if your play date falls on a rainy day you will be all set with plenty of weather-proof fun.

If you head there on a day with nice weather, your kids will also enjoy their outdoor activities like an interactive, educational hayride, picking out pumpkins in their pumpkin patch, and riding on the bumble bee express!

First of Fall Play Days is Non-Stop Fall Fun!

Last year, I took my 3-year-old and 10 month-old sons to Koetsier’s along with my friend April and her two-year-old son. We moms had fun enjoying delicious cider and doughnuts while our little guys wore themselves out trying ALL THE THINGS.

Both of the “big” boys ran for the tractors as soon as they got into the play area. You could tell they felt like big shots driving around the hay bales.

Then, the boys had a ball playing in their various inflatables. Their favorite inflatable seemed to be the giant pumpkin that had balloons floating in it. Look at the sheer joy on their faces!

Last year, Koetsier’s added “Toddler Town,” which is a specially-designed space for kids ages 3 and under. This had to be my favorite part because instead of sitting in the stroller watching the toddlers play, my 10-month-old was able to get out and explore Toddler Town. And he LOVED it!

We moms coaxed our wildly active boys to sit still for a few minutes to try their hand at pumpkin painting. The boys were so proud of their masterpieces.

Next, we all enjoyed the fun, interactive hayride. All the kids loved picking out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch and learning about the farm animals along the way.

New this year – Koetsier’s has added a BARNYARD ADVENTURE that is included with your child’s First of Fall Play Days admission. Kids can interact with chickens, turkeys, and ducks, climb hay bales and other climbing structures while waiting for their hayride.

Before it was time to head home, our boys enjoyed their apple cider, doughnuts, and bags of popcorn. Obviously, I quality-tested the doughnuts for them (they were quite tasty).

We packed in so much fun in those two hours. As soon as we got in the car, my little guy fell asleep.

My toddler said, “Koetsier’s is fun! The bumble bees and cider were my favorite.”

Needless to say, our kids had a wonderful time at Koetsier’s First of Fall Play Days.

No cost for adults then? Just children?

With 3 kids, this is too expensive for us. I know they get to do quite a bit but it’s not enough to justify the cost for me and I have a hard time recommending it because of the cost.
