The weather is turning colder. My thoughts have turned to sweaters, crock pot meals, pumpkins and football. And I have also started looking for indoor activities for my kids. One that we’ve had on our calendar for a few years now is gymnastics. I don’t know about you, but my kids are the high-energy variety and any chance I can get for them to climb, jump and run is a bonus (especially when we can avoid the germ-fest at the mall play land.)
I think I read somewhere that gymnastics is really good for a child’s development, too. That’s a nice bonus, but the truth is, my kids do gymnastics because they love it, they love GRG, and it tires them out.
Grand Rapids Gymnastics is a high-caliber place. They have great coaches and they put on a world-class gymnastics meet in December (that will be cool for kids to watch!) But they don’t just focus their energy on teams. Their preschool and recreational gymnastics are fun and educational. My daughter regularly “makes a cake and eats it” while stretching in her class. The fundamentals of gymnastics are woven into classes as play for the littlest gymnasts. They learn what pike and straddle are without even realizing it.
GRG offers recreational gymnastics classes for boys and girls, competitive boys and girls gymnastics teams as tumbling and trampoline classes and competitive team. Other activities include: Open Gym, Birthday Parties, Parents’ Night Out and Summer Camps.
