NorthPointe Christian Wants Each Student to Find Their Perfect Class
Preschool is so.much.fun. I mean, playdoh, coloring, sand tray, songs – it really can’t get better.
Also, let’s be real for a minute. Preschool teachers are saints. It’s not just anyone who can handle fifteen 3-4 years olds in a room together for several hours.
When those eager 3 and 4 years olds finally get to start school they are SO excited but picking the right school (and those wonderful teachers) can be overwhelming for parents. There are so many options in West Michigan, and Preschool is where kids learn how to make friends, start their love for learning, and develop so many new skills.
NorthPointe Christian School in Grand Rapids has four main options for Preschool. These new, innovative options are sure to include one that suits your needs as well as your child’s needs. All of these programs will equip your child for Kindergarten, ready for that next level of learning.
NorthPointe Christian believes children are all created uniquely by God and their varied program offerings allow them to meet the needs of a variety of unique learners. At NorthPointe Christian, their goal is to help all students grow and thrive – academically, spiritually, and socially.
NorthPointe Christian’s 3 Themed Preschools
1 – Nature-Based Preschool
NorthPointe Christian’s Nature-Based Preschool provides a way for students to explore God’s creation and learn while being active outdoors. Students spend their mornings in the outdoor preschool space – on the back of NorthPointe Christian Elementary School’s property – three times a week, rain or shine, snow or sleet. Each of the programs have the foundation of a Christ-centered, highly-quality education but use unique resources to meet the children’s academic goals.
2 – Intergenerational Preschool
NorthPointe’s new Intergenerational Preschool also develops students academically, spiritually, and socially, but using a completely different tool of learning alongside senior “grand-friends” at Vista Springs Retirement Facility.
Students frequently visit Vista Springs and plans are underway for a preschool room to open this year on Vista Springs’ campus. Students and seniors are both enriched through regularly learning together and sharing stories.
3 – Spanish Immersion Preschool
Spanish Immersion begins with 3 year old preschool but allows students to enter as late as 1st grade. The program provides a way for students to learn a second language through being immersed in the language.
NorthPointe’s program is supported by the expertise of add.a.lingua, who NorthPointe has contracted to ensure best practices in language education.
Traditional English Preschool and Classes Beyond
Beyond these three options, NorthPointe Christian’s early childhood program offers a “traditional” English classroom, Young Fives, three and five day kindergarten, and flexible choose-your-own scheduling for preschoolers.
Each of these classrooms has loving teachers in place to help call out the God-given gifts of each of our young learners and to help them thrive academically, spiritually, and socially, no matter their learning style.
