So You Want to Sing? Join One of These Local Grand Rapids Youth Choruses

Has your child belted out “Let It Go” more times than you can count?

Okay, so probably every elementary-aged kid in America has been doing that since last year.

Does your child belt out any old song, just for the heck of it? Do they always seem to have music on their lips?

Maybe it’s time to sign them up for an area singing group, where they can hone their vocal zeal and learn skills they’ll take with them for the rest of their lives.

According to Time, “group singing has been scientifically proven to lower stress, relieve anxiety, and elevate endorphins.”

Basically, group singing is good for you.

And in addition to church choirs throughout the area (some of which, like Mayflower Congregational, are huge), Grand Rapids brags at least five quality choral groups for kids. Ever listen to the Choir of Men and Boys? They are fantastic. And it’s because of the teaching they get locally.

So check out one of these groups and maybe, for the first time in forever, your kid will start singing something new around the house.
