What You Can Expect at Summer Adventures Day Camp at Adventure Point
A short seven minute drive from Grand Rapids’ city center, this campus offers a fully equipped S.T.E.A.M. Education Lab and Solar Greenhouse, four Conference / Classrooms, and is the location of Summer Adventures Day Camp beginning June 17, 2019.
What does a week at Summer Adventures Day Camp look like?
Day camp begins at check in from 8:30 – 8:50 AM. Campers will bring their own healthy lunch and favorite water bottle, and we provide the fresh water and healthy (parent approved) snacks each camp day.
Hands-on fun is our goal – and campers will experience a diverse offering each day at indoor and outdoor environments. They’ll build and program robots, learn about 3D printing and discover how and where circuits work in our everyday lives. They’ll also learn how to use a bow and arrow in our Shooting Sports range, sling paintballs at a canvas with slingshots, and hike trails.
And, with a Solar Greenhouse on our site, all youth will have an active part in growing, tending, and harvesting food and then learn about kitchen science in our lab! Water Study in Mill Creek, Recycling, Sustainable living, and Conservation are all included in hands-on, FUN days at Adventure Point!
