Can you Smell That? Food Trucks are Popping up all Over Grand Rapids!

If you haven’t bought food from a food truck yet, you should definitely put it on your family’s Summer To-Do List!

Nowadays it’s fairly simple to hunt down a local food truck, but don’t worry, I did a little research for y’all and did my best to find the tastiest!  All in the name of research…

To start the summer off right, in May, the Grand Rapids Food Truck Association (GRFTA), hosts an annual Roll’N Out Food Truck Festival on Ionia Avenue in Heartside Park area.

In the past, there has been up to 30 food trucks and trailers that participate, making the event Grand Rapids’ largest food truck rally!

On Friday evenings in the summer, Riverside Park hosts “Food Truck Fridays” from 5:00 – 9:00 PM.

Word to the wise:  get there early. And while picnic tables are provided, bring your own chairs or picnic blanket if you want to sit in the shade.

Since there is a ton of room all around the food trucks for kids to play, soccer balls and bubble machines are highly recommended! (Also, sunscreen and bug spray!)

These guys pop up all over West Michigan so check out our list at the end of this post for the upcoming food truck events near you!

Even Picky Kids can Find Tasty Fare at These Trucks

Sure, adults love a good food truck, but what about kids? What about kids who refuse to eat anything besides toast and fruit snacks?

You can still bring picky eaters to a food truck! I’ve included the kid-friendly options that I found on the various menus. If you have a picky kid like me who only eats chicken nuggets, French fries, and mac & cheese, you will appreciate the following list.

By no means are these all the food trucks in West Michigan, but these are the ones that have great kid-friendly options!

Do you know of other food trucks in Grand Rapids with kid-friendly menus? We’d love to hear from you in the comments section!
