Join for the 85th Annual Hollyhock Lane Parade! This parade is the longest running Fourth of July parade in the state of Michigan.

The parade will start at the corner of Calvin and Alexander Street at 8:30 AM, line up starts at 8:00 AM. Children are welcome to participate by decorating their bikes or making wagon floats. At the end, there’ll be 1st ($35), 2nd ($25), and 3rd ($20) place cash prizes awarded to the children with the best wagon floats. The two categories that the wagons will be judged on are “Best Patriotic Theme” and “Best Environmental Theme”.

Post-parade ceremonies will take place in the alley between Giddings and Calvin Streets known as “Hollyhock Lane.” There’ll be a short program which will include a flag raising by the Spirits of 76 and singing of the National Anthem. Following the award of float prizes, there’ll be treats for the children and jazz music provided by Elgin Vines & Company.
