A Workshop Designed for Kids Preparing for the Upcoming School Year! (parents drop kids off)

We will cover: Making friends, gaining confidence, coping skills and empowering children to feel confident as they transition into the school year. For kids ages 5-8 yo.

Getting ready for a successful school year takes more than just supplies. Anticipating the changes and challenges of a new year, and preparing to meet them with confidence helps children have a more successful transition as they are starting and or returning back to school.

The goal of the workshop is to help your child walkaway with their own toolbox of ideas that they can use to have a successful start to the school year.

We will work on strengthening your child to have a good start to the school year by teaching coping skills, and tools that are necessary to navigate the transition of returning to school, or starting school for the first time. In the workshop we will talk about peers, making friends, confidence building, processing feelings and handling worries/anxiety. For many children the anticipation of the school year can bring excitement, but for some it can produce many different feelings, including worries and anxiety, often times caused by the anticipated and unknown expectations. In the workshop we will process feelings that may arise or that they may have, teach how to apply their coping skills and identify support people that they can use during school time and home time.

Workshop fun: We will be making stress balls and ending the workshop with a short yoga session including mindfulness and breathing.
