Hear ye, hear ye! Calling all citizens of Southeast Grand Rapids and beyond interested in serving the community and earning free tickets to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. On Tuesday, July 16, in partnership with local nonprofit, Friends of Grand Rapids Parks (FGRP), Medieval Times will host a beautification event to help cultivate the more than 15 acres of vibrant woodland at Garfield Park. By order of Her Majesty, Queen Maria Isabella, Knights will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to assist with tree pruning, invasive species removal and litter pick-up, all while rewarding community volunteers with sword fighting demonstrations and free tickets for a summertime getaway to the adrenaline-charged live jousting tournament and feast in Chicago’s northwest suburbs.
Committed to the flourishment of realms near and far through its Chivalry in Action initiatives, Medieval Times is honored to support FGRP’s mission to create thriving parks and sustainable urban forests that actively promote community economic, environmental and cultural health. The first 100 volunteers to register for and attend the beautification event will each receive a complimentary ticket redeemable for Medieval Times shows between July 18 and Aug. 31, 2019. Families and friend groups are encouraged to volunteer, and plan their group outing to Medieval Times, together.
Volunteers interested in joining the Knights to put chivalry in action can pre-register for this free event by visiting www.medievaltimes.com/parks. Ticket receipt is contingent upon day-of participation. Garfield Park is located at 2111 Madison Ave SE in Grand Rapids, a mere three-hour drive from Medieval Times’ colossal stone castle. All ages are welcome, and training and supplies will be provided at the event. Additionally, closed-toe shoes are required. For more information, visit friendsofgrparks.org.
