Thursday, October 10, 2019 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Cascade Fire Department will again host the Silent Night Firefighter’s Memorial Service and Parade. The Fire Department
respectfully requests your presence at the ceremony as we pay tribute to fallen firefighters, whether in the line of duty or not. Fire, police and EMS vehicles will form a lights-only parade, and will turn on their emergency lights without the sirens. Visitors observing the parade are encouraged to bring flashlights and American flags to light the way for the parade.

Schedule:

• 7 p.m. – Presentation of colors at the Cascade branch of the Kent District Library from the Honor Guard. Each Fire Department will have the chance to announce deceased firefighter personnel while bells toll and bagpipers play “Amazing Grace.”

• 7:30 p.m. – Parade begins with a blessing of any fire vehicles less than a year old. After the blessing, all emergency lights are turned on but no sirens or air horns are activated, creating a “silent parade.”

• 8 p.m. – Local Fire Departments will display fire vehicles at the Cascade Christian Reformed parking lot for the public to view. Food and refreshments will be provided.

The parade will begin at 28th Street to Cascade Road, to Burton Street, to Kraft Ave, to 28th Street and end at Cascade Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 6655 Cascade Road.
