Youth overnights are offered for 3rd through 5th grade and 6th through 8th grade. The evening starts at 5:30pm and ends at 9:30am the following morning. Activities may include; games, keeper talks, night tours, live animal demonstrations and more. Evening snack and breakfast are included. The staff to student ratio is 1:8.

Care of Magical Creatures – Join us as we compare muggle animals to magical creatures. As a wizarding student you will learn how to properly care for creatures of both the muggle and wizarding world. Along the way you’ll discover the adaptations of muggle animals like the hedgehog, snake, and ferret and magical animals like the knarl, basilisk and jarvey. It won’t be all study time – games and activities will include scavenger hunts and trivia.

Friday, September 13 – 6th-8th grade students 
Kooky Not Spooky Overnight – It’s Zoo Goes Boo after dark! Learn kooky facts about some of the animals at John Ball Zoo. Prowl through the zoo to spot nocturnal animals stirring, make a fun Halloween treat for one of the animals, and wake up to say Happy Halloween to the chimpanzees!
