The Grand Haven annual 4th of July Fireworks display lights up the night sky after the evening’s showing of the Grand Haven Musical Fountain and National Anthem. This is always a free community event.
The City of Grand Haven has several areas for viewing this spectacular fountain and fireworks show! The area where spectators will most want to be is near Waterfront Stadium. The trick is getting there soon enough to claim your space. Not to worry though there are several other great spots in which to capture this special performance. The grassy areas to the west of Waterfront Stadium (near Snug Harbor restaurant) offers a nice long stretch of an unobstructed view where you can lay a blanket or bring a chair. The grassy area to the east of Waterfront stadium (Municipal Marina area) also offers great space to relax and take in the show.
Another consideration – the streets of downtown Grand Haven. Viewing the musical fountain from the downtown streets is not likely but you can hear the music and once the fireworks get started the show will turn to the sky and viewing will be great any where in the vicinity of Grand Haven proper.
Insider Tip: Plan your day well in advance. Arrive early. You will still have park and walk a bit but at least you will have a place to park – things get busy! Bring chairs/blanket, snacks, drinks and your best 4th of July attitude. Begin with the end in mind.
