You won't want to miss this larger-than-life, world-class activation making its U.S. premier at ArtPrize.

"David" is a 35-foot-tall marionette made out of aluminum. On opening night of ArtPrize, a group of puppeteers made him climb up the Amway Grand in downtown Grand Rapids!

Bonus: ArtPrize Visitors will be able to sign up to control this giant puppet at 45 Ottawa Avenue starting Monday. Make him dance, move, and have some fun! Bring the whole family for a hands-on experience like no other.

Take a walk by "Lake Michigan" under the full moon and listen to the night sounds. You'll see owl shadows on the sidewalk, representing the owls we've lost in Michigan. This experience connects you to nature, bringing back the sounds of those missing owls.

This is a unique interactive music experience, making music fun and accessible for people of all ages and any level of experience.

Oikos

This installation is a giant walk-through dollhouse with audio that explores how our homes connect to the world and shape who we are. As you move through each room, you'll engage with interactive elements that challenge your views on social media, homelessness, water usage, and food access.

Archway to Heaven

Seven 20-foot arches hang elegantly in the air. Made from birch wood and colored acrylic in a gradient pattern, they have built-in LEDs that can be controlled individually.

The arches also have intricate etched designs that create beautiful light and shadow effects. Hanging 30-40 feet high, the installation looks like a magical pathway in the sky.

This large suspended artwork was created by artists Felipe Gomez and Gabriella Zepeda.

The Eyes Cannot See What the Mind Does Not Know

This sculpture of an eye shows how two people can look at the same thing but see it differently.

It uses pieces from real eye surgeries to show a blue-eyed and a brown-eyed person looking in opposite directions with a rainbow between them, sparkling and changing as you move around.

This piece of art was created out of the sense of calm one can experience while meditating.

What hurts? What helps?
The centerpiece of the installation is an oversized cork band-aid message board, measuring an impressive 4 feet by 17 feet.

"Old Stories" is an art series that retells famous myths about characters who feel trapped and alone, like Icarus, the Minotaur, Prometheus, Narcissus, and Orpheus. Each sculpture shows a moment where these characters hope to escape or find freedom, even though their stories seem already decided.

This immersive art experience is made of 30 linoleum print portraits of minorities living in the state of Michigan: immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC, and disabled people. It also includes recordings of participant voices talking about their stories, experiences, and wishes for themselves and their communities.
