Head Start and Great Start Readiness Programs

Head Start programs are free, federally funded programs designed to promote school readiness for children from low-income families.

Child Development Services of Ottawa County (Head Start)Locations include Coopersville, Grand Haven, and Holland.
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Ottawa (Ottawa Area ISD)Free preschool for four-year-old children who meet state guidelines, as well as tuition assistance and scholarship opportunities for those outside of the state guidelines.
Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Kent (Kent ISD)Families qualify for free four-year-old preschool based on income or other factors such as special needs or high risks.
