A Music Machine - made from broken instruments and discarded furniture - is activated when
visitors turn a large copper crank. Cogs trigger a woodpecker keeping the beat, a skunk on washboard, and a squirrel adding his jam.
PO (Art)Box is ArtPrize's smallest venue. Inside each mailbox cubby is art from a collection of artists that came together to create the dioramas or micro-installations that you see here.
This interactive living sculpture brings people together in a shared experience. It's an opportunity to unplug and experience the beauty and awe of flowering plants reflected back in a timeless kaleidoscopic image. Look through the viewing scopes, turn the bowl of flowers, and share your experience with the people around you.
Once Upon A Wimmelbild' celebrates the magical feeling of stepping into a public library. Who can you find?
Write a letter to your future self and drop it into the mailbox of when you want to receive it. It will really be mailed to you! Listen to gentle music while you write.
An interactive mural lets anyone scan it with a phone to identify 100+ Grand Rapids landmarks.
The mural features local people, buildings, and Grateful Dead symbolism, including Shakedown Street's shop.
You can take one of these lovely ladies home this ArtPrize 2024! Keep our eyes peeled! You can find them in flower beds, trees, and Grand Rapids staples.
The concept for the Eastown Mural is inspired by classic “postcard” style murals often found in cities with the city name as part of the design. But with a modern twist.
The Mint Artists Guild is showcasing 50 + tiny paintings depicting "Small Joys" all created by Detroit youth artists. These paintings show a wide array of things from fish, swimming with friends, smiling to flowers blooming, and more.
There will also be a spot to share the small joys in your own life as well.
You won't want to miss this larger-than-life, world-class activation making its U.S. premier at ArtPrize. Bring the whole family for a hands-on experience like no other.
