WEBSITE
Myers Lake Park is a popular play spot for Rockford area families. Because it is such a large park (over 10 acres!) and has so much to offer, it is like a little spontaneous vacation for a day. And best of all, it’s FREE!
Myers Lake Park has one of the 85+ playgrounds in west Michigan.
A Bit about Myers Lake Park
I love bringing my daughter here because as much as I love the big lake, I also love not having to drive to it to go to the beach.
With shady picnic areas, a nice beach, fishing spots, and a fantastic playground, Myers Lake has it all. It even has bathrooms (with changing areas) that are close to the beach, which is super helpful with little ones!
Myers Lake Park at a Glance
The play structures have some toddler-sized equipment and the beach doesn’t have the waves like Lake Michigan, so it’s a lot easier for littles to splash away.
You’ll find two parking lots at Myers Lake, one closer to the entrance, and a second one right by the beach and play structures.
Myers Lake Park is open year round. Summer hours (Memorial Day – Labor Day) are Mon – Fri, 8 AM – 9 PM and Sat – Sun, 7:30 AM – 9 PM. The rest of the year, the park is accessible from 7 AM until sunset.
Tips for Your Trip from Other Parents
- What’s the shade/sun situation like? Plenty of both! Shady picnic and grassy areas, sunny beach!
- Are there bugs? A few – bug spray isn’t a bad idea just in case as the trees can bring out the bugs.
- Weekdays are best with kids. Weekends and evenings get much more crowded and can get more rowdy with adults and older teens.
