Best Non-Profit in Grand Rapids

1 – Kid’s Food Basket
Kid’s Food Basket aims to kick hunger to the curb in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties.
Their sack supper program serves nutritious, ready-to-eat meals to kids daily in the surrounding communities. They serve 60 different schools during the school year!
Not only do they work to keep kids fed during the week, but they also send home ready-to-eat meals on the weekend.

2 – Hand2Hand
Another organization that aims to bridge the food gap is Hand2Hand. They provide shelf-stable meals that go home on weekends in a discreet backpack to over 273 schools during the school year.
Hand2Hand aims to provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items to kids that participate in this program.
3 – Make a Wish Michigan – West Michigan Office

Make a Wish West Michigan is part of the larger Make a Wish Foundation. They aim to fulfill life changing wishes for kids with critical illnesses.
These granted wishes are meant to help inspire kids and their families to have hope and to stay joyful during the challenges they may face.
Wishes can include anything from trips to Disney to meeting celebrities.
4 – In the Image

In the Image aims to provide free basic essentials to those in need or in immediate crisis. Patrons have the ability to shop their free store 10 times per calendar year by appointment.
They also have a shoe program that helps elementary age kids start the school year with a brand new pair of shoes each year.
5 – MomsBloom
400 Ann St NW, Suite 201A, Grand Rapids, MI, 49504
The newborn phase can often feel overwhelming for new parents, that’s where MomsBloom comes in to help. They offer hands-on help, companionship and encouragement to new parents.
The program is open to families of all backgrounds in Kent County – and hopefully to return soon to Ottawa County.
