Here’s the area kid friendly restaurants that are serving up delicious craft beer.
1 – Founders Brewing Company
With several award-winning brews, Founders Brewing Company is known for their complex, world-class ales. Founders is the big name for breweries in Grand Rapids and the forerunner of the West Michigan brewery explosion. They proudly claim to continue to “push the liquid envelope” by innovating new brewing concepts and flavors.
The Grand Rapids taproom is modeled after a German beer hall with a patio and beer garden. With a diverse selection of food, including freshly-baked Telera bread pizza, hand-crafted sandwiches, and munchies, families can enjoy live music in an open and laid-back atmosphere.
2 – The Mitten Brewing Company
Located in an old Fire Engine House on Grand Rapids’ west side, The Mitten Brewing Company is a vintage baseball-themed microbrewery/pizzeria where both sports enthusiasts and lovers of restored Victorian buildings can especially enjoy the unique atmosphere.
The Mitten believes that what sets them apart is the commitment they have to their community, and they pride themselves on being a neighborhood favorite. They are dedicated to making children comfortable when visiting by engaging them and offering a kid’s menu with favorites like pizza, chicken nuggets, and mac and cheese.

Located in Comstock Park, Perrin Brewing Company has between 18-25 beers on tap, a large menu selection of American fare – including a kid’s menu, and monthly series of special events including beer tastings.
The main thing families enjoy at Perrin Brewing is the open space concept. They offer the in-pub space, patio, and a deck in the summer to make it more accommodating for larger groups and families.

City Built Brewing is on Monroe Ave. strives to set themselves apart from other breweries with a distinctive Puerto Rican flare in their menu.
Their large, enticing menu includes appetizers, entrees, and a variety of taco specialties.
Their emphasis, however, is on hospitality. City Built Brewing hosts weekly game nights and boasts a living room atmosphere with a children’s play area.

Harmony Brewing Company offers two options: a neighborhood pub which features wood-fired pizzas in Eastown and a second location, Harmony Hall, on the west side of Grand Rapids. Both locations have large, appealing menus, though special note: The Harmony Hall menu includes the Pretserious – which is a pretzel that weighs just over a pound!

Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria & Brewery on Bridge Street NW serves “artisan ales” and a full menu that includes traditional pub fare along with a kid’s menu. L42 also provides a kid’s menu with options that include healthier selections like a chicken kabob and fresh vegetables.
