With a sledding and running hill just outside, fire pits, s’more kits, and a play area made for exploring (hello, giant tires!), there’s always something to keep little ones entertained. Families will find a dedicated kids menu.

2 – Archival Brewing

Archival Brewing has plenty of room for families to spread out and enjoy good food and drinks. The indoor space is large and welcoming so you won’t feel cramped for space with bigger families.

But the real highlight is the outdoor beer garden. The biergarten has pergola-covered seating, fire pits, and yard games like bocce and corn hole, so kids (and adults) can play while you sip a craft brew.

The kids menu is also one worth mentioning having kid favorites like chicken tenders, mac n’ cheese and even a rootbeer float.

With several award-winning brews, Founders Brewing Company is known for their complex, world-class ales. Founders is the big name for breweries in Grand Rapids and the forerunner of the West Michigan brewery explosion. Located in an old Fire Engine House on Grand Rapids’ west side, The Mitten Brewing Company is a vintage baseball-themed microbrewery/pizzeria where both sports enthusiasts and lovers of restored Victorian buildings can especially enjoy the unique atmosphere.

They pride themselves on being a neighborhood favorite dedicated to making children comfortable when visiting with a kids menu offering a kid’s menu with favorites like pizza, chicken nuggets, and mac and cheese and outdoor yard games.

The main thing families enjoy at Perrin Brewing is the open space concept. They offer the in-pub space, patio, and a deck in the summer to make it more accommodating for larger groups and families.

6 – Brewery Vivant

Brewery Vivant is a family-owned and oriented business. Modeled after traditional “public houses” of Europe, the focus is on family and conversation as well as food and drink.

The kid’s menu is tailored to closely resemble the fare that the adults are eating including mac and cheese made with mornay sauce and draft root beer. Thoughtful care to children is part of the Brewery Vivant experience.
