1 – Third Nature Brewing Company

Third Nature Brewing Company sets the gold standard for family-friendly breweries in West Michigan. If you want a place where parents can truly relax and kids can be kids, this is it.
With a sledding and running hill just outside, fire pits, s’more kits, and a play area made for exploring (hello, giant tires!), there’s always something to keep little ones entertained. Families will find a dedicated kids menu.
They even host special Family Fun Days making it easy to turn a brewery visit into a full family outing. My kids also love the live Irish Music that gets everyone up and dancing.
2 – Archival Brewing

Archival Brewing has plenty of room for families to spread out and enjoy good food and drinks. The indoor space is large and welcoming so you won’t feel cramped for space with bigger families.
But the real highlight is the outdoor beer garden. The biergarten has pergola-covered seating, fire pits, and yard games like bocce and corn hole, so kids (and adults) can play while you sip a craft brew.
The kids menu is also one worth mentioning having kid favorites like chicken tenders, mac n’ cheese and even a rootbeer float.
3 – Founders Brewing Company

With several award-winning brews, Founders Brewing Company is known for their complex, world-class ales. Founders is the big name for breweries in Grand Rapids and the forerunner of the West Michigan brewery explosion. 4 – The Mitten Brewing Company

Located in an old Fire Engine House on Grand Rapids’ west side, The Mitten Brewing Company is a vintage baseball-themed microbrewery/pizzeria where both sports enthusiasts and lovers of restored Victorian buildings can especially enjoy the unique atmosphere.
They pride themselves on being a neighborhood favorite dedicated to making children comfortable when visiting with a kids menu offering a kid’s menu with favorites like pizza, chicken nuggets, and mac and cheese and outdoor yard games.
5 – Perrin Brewing Company

Located in Comstock Park, Perrin Brewing Company has between 18-25 beers on tap, a large menu selection of American fare – including a kid’s menu, and monthly series of special events including beer tastings.
The main thing families enjoy at Perrin Brewing is the open space concept. They offer the in-pub space, patio, and a deck in the summer to make it more accommodating for larger groups and families.
6 – Brewery Vivant

Brewery Vivant is a family-owned and oriented business. Modeled after traditional “public houses” of Europe, the focus is on family and conversation as well as food and drink.
The kid’s menu is tailored to closely resemble the fare that the adults are eating including mac and cheese made with mornay sauce and draft root beer. Thoughtful care to children is part of the Brewery Vivant experience.
The enclosed “indoor” sun porch area is designed for kids. This space often includes a sandbox, playhouse, and small table/chairs to keep children entertained while parents dine.

Küsterer Brauhaus brings authentic German-style beer to Grand Rapids with a cozy, communal bier hall atmosphere inspired by Munich traditions.
While there isn’t a dedicated kids’ menu, family favorites like pizza and giant soft pretzels make it easy to keep little ones happy.
Plus, a full wall of games helps keep kids entertained while adults enjoy a classic German brew.

City Built Brewing is on Monroe Ave strives to set themselves apart from other breweries with a distinctive Puerto Rican flare in their menu.
Their large, enticing menu includes appetizers, entrees, and a variety of taco specialties.
Their emphasis, however, is on hospitality. City Built Brewing hosts weekly game nights and boasts a living room atmosphere with a children’s play area.
11 – Harmony Brewing Company

Harmony Brewing Company is a neighborhood pub which features wood-fired pizzas in Eastown.
Harmony’s staff is trained to wait specifically on families, which includes bringing kids’ food and drinks out ASAP and supplying them with coloring pages and apple slices.
The Eastown location has a shelf with kids’ books and toys, and the Harmony Hall even has stepping stools in the restrooms.

Family-owned and operated, Latitude 42 strives to welcome not only craft beer lovers, but whole families as well.
With two locations in Portage and Oshtemo, they even dedicated a section of their restaurants to a kid’s play area with the intent of providing a safe place for kids to be while parents enjoy time relaxing.
L42 also provides a kid’s menu with options that include healthier selections like a chicken kabob and fresh vegetables.
