Grow Club at Koetsier’s: Free Hands-On Fun for Little Gardeners!

Koetsier's Greenhouse, Grow Club

Koetsier’s Free Gardening Club for Kids is the Perfect Saturday Morning Plan

We’re always excited to share new things to do in the Spring with kids, especially ones that are free. We’ve got one you won’t want to miss.

If your kid loves to dig in the dirt, plant things, or just needs to keep their hands busy, you need to check out Grow Club at Koetsier’s Greenhouse.

This FREE event happens every Saturday, April 12 – June 18, 2025, from 10 AM – Noon. Each event is basically a hands-on, get-messy, learn-cool-stuff, creative kind of morning.

And since each week has a different activity, your kids can keep coming back week after week to do crafts, go on nature walks, and learn about all things gardening and growing!

So, What Do Kids Actually Do at Grow Club?

Short Answer: Awesome stuff.

Every Saturday there’s a different hands-on gardening, nature activity, or craft to take home.

These are just a few projects on the schedule for this spring/summer:

  • Pansy Pressing Card Craft: Kids will pound fresh pansy blossoms on cards to make prints to take home
  • Easter Egg Hunt: Kids will get to go on an Easter egg hunt through the greenhouse and dye Easter eggs with natural dye
  • Nature Hikes: Kids will learn how to identify native plants while on a hike/scavenger hunt
  • Beekeeper Presentation: Kids will learn all about keeping and tending to bees from a local beekeeper
  • Summer Should Out: Kids will take part in water balloons, relay races, AND a donut food truck

HOT TIP: May 20 is a Mother’s Day Craft! Kids will learn about forever flowers and take part in a flower card craft to give to the mom in their lives.

And on June 14 (before Father’s Day), kids will make homemade BBQ seasoning and handprint trophy cards.

I’m putting those two dates on my calendar!

Why You’ll Love It as a Parent

Besides the fact that it’s FREE, Grow Club is a great way to foster your kids’ love of gardening and growing things while keeping them entertained for a morning.

Grow Club is also:

  • Screen free: Gardening activities benefit both mind and body
  • Educational, but in a sneaky way: Learning about nature disguised as playing in the dirt
  • Great for picky eaters: Kids who grow fruits and veggies tend to actually eat them
  • Confidence building: Kids gain confidence in their gardening skills.

With activities changing every week, you’ll want to come back to Grow Club again and again.
