Building Bright Futures for Kent County Families
Family Futures is a local nonprofit, offering empowering services for West Michigan families. At Family Futures, parents are seen, heard and validated.

When you join the Family Futures program, you’ll get access to educational materials, prevention-based programming, your very own parenting coach and so much more.

Get Personalized In-Home Support
Family Futures offers the opportunity to team up with a Family Support Specialist who can answer your questions, connect you to resources, and help you give your baby the healthiest, safest start to life.
“With Healthy Families, I had someone who was going to check in with me monthly with whom I could be open and honest,” reflects a Healthy Families mom. “They were never judgmental, and always offered support for an issue I was dealing with.”
In addition to being that much-needed listening ear, your family support specialist can help you find childcare, baby pantries, parenting classes, a pediatrician and more.
“Healthy Families has shown me I have the ability to do anything I put my mind to with my family – and independently,” raves another Healthy Families mom.
Playtime with Purpose: Tracking Milestones While Having Fun
Time is everything when juggling family life. So kill two birds with one stone, and use playtime as a development and milestone barometer.
Parents in the Family Futures Connections program receive Ages and Stages questionnaires. You’ll get answers and suggestions for many of parenting’s hot topics. When will my baby smile? Is my toddler’s learning on track? Is he/she ready for preschool?
Bonus: Ages and Stages gives caregivers tips for incorporating physical and social-emotional milestones right into tummy or puzzle time.
“My daughter was slow at walking and my Family Support Navigator gave me so many different activities to do with her,” praises a Connections mom. “I did them every day and by the end of the month, my baby girl was walking!”
When you enroll in Connections, your child receives a personalized Thrive by Five plan that guides you every step of the way. On top of that, Family Futures offers even more resources with their Thrive by Five podcast and blog.
Celebrating 40 Years of Community Connections and Outreach
It’s a big year for Family Futures as they celebrate their 40th anniversary. This non-profit has been supporting families for four decades!
For the past 40 years, it’s been their mission to share as much vital information, education, and as many resources as possible, offering the strategies needed to support us parents into creating families with the brightest futures.
