New Park With Mega Fun Features Coming in August to Ada
You can enjoy a new place to play, cool off, picnic and more in Ada.
There’s lots of family fun in store for the new Covered Bridge Park (splash pad! playground! pickleball courts!), and it will soon join the ranks of the many great parks and playgrounds in West Michigan.

Where is Covered Bridge Park
Covered Bridge Park is a reimagining of the historic Leonard Field Park, which was home to many community softball and baseball games and the popular Beers at the Bridge events.
Covered Bridge Park – 7490 Thornapple River Dr SE, Ada, MI 49301
The new park is years in the making, and has come about thanks to the generosity of Ada’s residents and their vision for using this space in a new way to serve the community.
Planned Amenities at Covered Bridge Park
The new Covered Bridge Park will include:
- Large playground structures with areas for both older and younger kids
- A new splash pad
- Two pickleball courts
- A dog park
- A new veterans memorial and river overlook
- Community spaces with seating and green space
- Amenities including parking and restrooms

Opening Date of Covered Bridge Park
The Ribbon Cutting for Covered Bridge Park was on August 25.
You can access the newly revamped historic covered bridge through the north entrance. It’s a nice place to stroll and take in views of the Thornapple River or snap a photo.
It won’t be long before you’ll be able cross through to lots of new fun waiting on the other side.
