Grand Rapids Area Summer Reading Programs – 2018

ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP LIBRARY

  • Runs June 11 – August 17
  • For kids birth – 12th grade
  • Sign up at the library

BAKER BOOK HOUSE SUMMER READING PROGRAM

  • Runs June 1 – August 25
  • For kids birth – 17 years old.
  • The summer reading program, Spread Your Wings, can be registered for in-store.
  • Adult summer reading program also available for those 18+ and you can register in store or online.

BARNES & NOBLE SUMMER READING 

  • Runs May 15 – September 3
  • For kids grades 1 – 6; use this link for PDF form in English or Español.

CHUCK E. CHEESE READING REWARDS

  • Runs year-round!
  • Kids of all ages can participate, simply print off a calendar chart in English or Español and complete to redeem for 10 tokens.

COOPERSVILLE LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM

  • Register at the library between June 11 – 16.
  • For kids birth through just graduated
  • The 2018 theme is: “Libraries Rock,” read to win prizes all summer long, as well attend free programs each week, ending with a finisher party on July 28.

GARY BYKER MEMORIAL LIBRARY OF HUDSONVILLE

  • Runs June 4- August 4
  • For all ages birth – adult
  • Register on line or at the library

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY

  • Runs June 11 – August 3
  • For all ages birth to adult
  • Register at the library

GRAND RAPIDS PUBLIC LIBRARY SUMMER READING CHALLENGE

  • Runs May 28 – September 3 
  • For kids birth – 19 can sign-up at any GRPL branch or on line.

HUDSONVILLE COMMUNITY FAIR

  • Runs June 1 – August 20, forms to be turned in on Tuesday, August 21.
  • For kids 2 – 15
  • Forms can be picked up at the library, fair grounds, or printed at home.

KDL SUMMER READING PROGRAM

  • Runs June 4 – August 11 
  • For babies (under 2), youth (2 – 11), teens (11 – 17), and adults alike, forms can be picked up in branches, printed off at home, or you can register on line.

KENT COUNTY YOUTH FAIR – READING FOR RIDES

  • Forms can be downloaded until Tuesday, 9:00 PM, August 7.
  • For kids 12 and under.
  • Log five books and turn in your completed form for tickets to ride at the carnival on Wednesday, August 8.

PIZZA HUT BOOK-IT PROGRAM

  • Beat the “summer slide” by downloading and printing our summer activities that will keep your kids reading throughout the summer months. Using our summer activities, your kids are one step closer to beating the slide, setting them up for another successful school year.

SCHULER BOOKS SUMMER READING CLUB

  • Runs June 2 – August 31
  • For kids K – 8th grade
  • Drop in to the store to sign-up and pick up reading log to earn store credit.
