Where to Find March Happenings in GR

Believe it or not, March is just around the corner, and Grand Rapids has one warm welcome planned!

Below, we’ve listed at least one activity for each day of the month. March to your own beat, or follow the crowd…from Laughfest to Lollipops…butterflies, basketball and bargains, there’s something for everyone!

March 1 – Visit Meijer Gardens and walk through their conservatory with 7,000 tropical butterflies! Butterflies are Blooming is on exhibit from March 1-April 30.

March 2 – Enjoy a diverse selection of foods, at the Taste of Kentwood.

March 3 – Watch dreams come true, as you dance and sing along to, Disney on Ice!

Sunday, March 5 – It’s Family Crafternoon at the Mudoom! Two people can paint two pottery pieces for just $39!

March 6 – Make a splash! Goldfish Swim School, Spring Lake, Holland and Kentwood Aquatics Centers all have open swim today!

March 7 – Run some errands while your Little Ones Lunch & Learn at R-Athletics.

March 8 – Discover a world of optical illusions at Spencer Township’s KDL Mixing Magic! A World of Color, Optics and Light event.

March 9 – Head to the DeltaPlex for the 87th Annual Saladin Shrine Circus!

March 10 – Watch the biggest performers on 4 wheels, race through the Van Andel Arena at Monster Jam 2017. Or enjoy an evening of camping fun in the warmth of the GRCM at their annual Indoor Campout!

March 11 – Spend your morning laughing doing Family Improv or at the Super Saturday Kids Zone, then create your own wearable art at the GRAM, inspired by the graphic tattoos of Leo Zuleueta, at their Parent & Child Workshop: Tattoo T-Shirts.

Sunday, March 12 – Bring your furry friends to celebrate how funny pets can be at LaughFest’s People & Pets event.

March 13 – Take advantage of discounted Spring rates and head to the John Ball Zoo!

March 14 – Explore Creatures of Light in its first week at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.

March 15 – Head to the movies! Kids 12 and under can enjoy Flick’s Family Films for FREE all month long! This week’s feature is Trolls!

March 16 – Sign your little comedians up for Kids Joke Time! In addition to today’s event in Grand Rapids, your kids can sign up for events in Lowell or Holland being held on March 11.

March 17 – Bring your family and a flashlight, and prepare to experience the zoo in a new ‘light’ on their Twilight Sensory Safari!

March 18 – I think I can, I think I can…take in the sounds of the GR Symphony’s Lollipops performance of The Little Engine that Could, then bring the whole family to the LaughFest’s Baby Loves Disco dance party. Want to enjoy the great outdoors instead? Head to the 47th Annual Sugarbush Festival at the Blandford Nature Center, or check out the Maple Syrup Fest at the Wittenbach/Wege Agriscience and Environmental Education Center.

Sunday, March 19 – Race through the streets of downtown GR completing fun filled challenges in the Seriously Funny Family Adventure Challenge!

March 20 – Explore basic science concepts focusing on a different STEAM theme each week at Makerspace Mondays.

Sunday, March 26 – Let you child discover science in the kitchen, while making boba tea, dry-ice ice cream and their own personal pizza at the Downtown Market’s Kids Food Science Class.

March 27 – Get cozy in your pajamas and head to the Grand Rapids Public Library for Pajama Time for Families.

March 28 – Bring your babies, 18 months and under, to Grand Rapids Gymnastics for FREE playtime.

March 29 – It’s Wristband Wednesday at Craig’s Cruisers. Enjoy unlimited fun for just $25.

March 30 – Hold baby chicks as you listen to a story at the Critter Barn’s Little Peeps Storytime.

March 31 – Cheer on the Grand Rapids Drive as they take on the Canton Charge at their last home game of the season.
