Why are houses with No Decorations for 2024 on the list?

That’s because we start scouting in mid-September! Maybe we swung by the house before the decorator had gotten started. We’ve left them showing up on our list in case they have decorations up now.

If that’s the case, click below to let us know the lights are up or to add a new house we should consider.

Farewell to a Local Favorite

If you’ve been following our list for awhile, you know that we love the McCabe Haunt in Ada.

The Ada Witch isn’t out this year, but it was seriously spooky.

We’re sad to learn that this is the last year for the McCabe Haunt as they’re moving out of state. So if you haven’t been out to Ada to see it in person, don’t miss out!

Note that McCabe is a busy street. Please park on grass on either McCabe or on Conservation. DO NOT stop in the street.

McCabe Haunt Image

McCabe Haunt

777 McCabe Ave NE, Ada, Michigan 49301

Confirmed for 2024

This the last year for the beloved McCabe Haunt as the homeowners are moving.

A creepy cemetery, skeleton horses, lights and smoke... this display changes every year. * Please park on grass on either McCabe or on Conservation. DO NOT stop in the street as McCabe is a busy street. ** (There is a wide sidewalk along the display, but be mindful of young children, as this display is on a county road without street lights and drivers cannot see you.)

Most lights will remain on throughout the night. Fog and fog filled bubbles running from 5:30 - 9 PM on nights it’s not raining. Most animatronics have "try me" or "push buttons" in front of them to activate.

There's a freaky animated angel in a red box that might startle younger kids. (Or also adults, like our GRKIDS team member who visited recently.)

Giant spiders and their webs take over the yard at this spooky house.

The owners told us that guests can feel free to walk through the tunnel, see the spiders and take pictures, just watch your step. There are lots of stakes and wires holding everything down and some of them stick up out of the ground. **Please don't touch anything.**

~~ Plus another house with fun inflatables is nearby. ~~

I did help create this list and also help to maintain it. I’ve added you to our list! Thanks for reaching out!

      1. Hi- McCabe has decorations that move. Just a warning if little ones tend to get frightened. Please, please do not stop or drive very slow by. Please pull over as many tend to drive extremely fast on McCabe.

  4. There’s another house in Jenison, on Redwood dr that decorates every year. This year’s theme is, “Monsters Ball”.

  5. Just wanted to confirm that Thornapple DR and Laraway Lake in Ada (Oliver Woods neighborhood) is decked out to the hilt! Much like Christmastime, the first house at the entrance goes ALL out; and many other houses throughout the neighborhood join in on a smaller scale.

  6. 1447-1449 Escott Ave. NW. We have a 7ft werewolf, Pennywise the dancing clown (IT), skeleton horse and stagecoach, a 6ft spider on the roof and plenty of inflatables, including the whole Halloweentown cast from Nightmare before Christmas! Add us to the list!!!

  7. It seems odd that this article doesn’t include a map link with all the addresses. Even worse, now that I want to make one, nothing on this site can be highlighted for copy/pasting? This is great information, not very usable.

      1. How do you make the list? We are down the street from Kinview and Kinrow.
We decorate pretty good over here too.

  8. Please add a house that on Melita Ave off of Knapp St. I don’t know the specific address, but each year the home owner goes above and beyond with decor and actually dressing up to greet trick-or-treaters with a BOO!

    1. Yes! I’ve seen this house and it’s honestly one of the best houses because the owner goes above-and-beyond in dressing up too!

      1. Ashely – Thank you for the shout-out! I am the crazy Halloween lady you speak of and I am on the list above. We rented on Melita but purchased and moved to 921 Shawmut Ct NW!
