The Pride Lands Are Coming to Grand Rapids
There are so many fun things to do in Grand Rapids. One of my favs? Catching a show from Broadway Grand Rapids.
Each year, Broadway Grand Rapids brings at least six incredible touring productions to DeVos Performance Hall. Past line-ups have included Hamilton, Moulin Rouge and Les Misérables.
This April, Disney’s The Lion King will be taking the stage – and I, for one, cannot wait. It promises to be a show that takes me right back to middle school while I have to bite my lip to prevent myself from singing along.

Disney’s The Lion King Highlights
Disney’s The Lion King is a mix of humans, costumes, masks and puppetry – all blended in the most seamless, incredible way possible.

As you watch costumed humans, occasionally with masks over their faces, your imagination will kick into gear. You will have no problem envisioning a stage full of lions, hyenas, giraffes and all the other African animals.

I’m not sure I can watch without singing along to “Circle of Life” — can you?
“No matter how many times you see it, the opening number, “Circle of Life,” in which the ensemble becomes one with the Serengeti menagerie…is pure enchantment.” -Peter Marks, Washington Post
