A Bit about North Beach Park

If you’re looking for a low key alternative to the buzzing beach at Grand Haven, head to North Beach Park in Ferrysburg. North Beach Park is a Lake Michigan beach and playground and one of the closest spots around to find some dunes and a scenic overlook of the big lake.

Visitors will appreciate the clean beach, thanks in part to staff to make sure that people don’t feed the seagulls.

FAQ’s

Like with any beach, you’ll want to keep an eye on your toddler and have them wear some sort of floatation device. And be sure to protect that young skin from the sun by dressing them in UV protectant clothing, hats, or wearing sunscreen.

North Beach Park offers a large beach area, playground, scenic dune overlook of Lake Michigan, wheelchair accessible path on the beach (in summer), restrooms, and a covered picnic area and grills. Life jackets are available to borrow.

Bathrooms are clean and near the beach.

You’ll find picnic tables and grills at the covered shelter, and you can of course picnic on the beach! Just please don’t feed the seagulls.

There are trees here and there, but the beach is in full sun, so come prepared with sunblock. On hot summer days, it is best to visit the park early or late in the day.
There’s room to fly your kite here, but it would probably be more fun to do so in spring or fall when the beach isn’t as frequented.
As an Ottawa County Park, daily admission for North Beach Park is $5 for Ottawa County residents and $7 for non-residents. You may also purchase an annual vehicle permit: $15 for Ottawa County residents or $25 for non-residents.
