Grand Rapids Griffins 2024-25 Season
The Grand Rapids Griffins 2024-25 season just dropped, and their promo schedule is looking sweet. They’re back again this year with awesome giveaways, cool theme nights, and the kind of fun that’ll get even not-a-hockey-fan people going.
Really! Even if you’re not a huge hockey buff, trust us – catching a Griffins game is where it’s at. Our team gives it their all on the ice, the crowd energy is real, and the entertainment between plays slaps (who doesn’t love a good t-shirt cannon?)
Can you tell we’re pretty darn proud of our Griffins?!
Of course cheering for the GR hometown hockey team is high on our list of favorite things to do in Grand Rapids!

Before You Go to a Grand Rapids Griffins Game
Tips for making the most of your night in downtown Grand Rapids at the Griffins:
Ticket Deals
The Griffins usually offer bundle packages like Friends & Family 4-packs or group outing discounts. You can also sign up to receive ticket deals via text.
No Bag Policy
Van Andel Arena has a no-bag policy, but security will allow fans to use bags to bring in their skates for post-game skate dates.
Parking / Free Bus
If you are driving to the game, plan your parking beforehand. On street parking is hard to find near the arena.
There’s a parking ramp across Fulton Street, right in front of Van Andel (Ottawa Fulton Ramp
50 Ottawa Ave NW.) 2024 Pricing for the Ottawa-Fulton Ramp is: $24.00 daily max $15.00 during special events $2.00 every half hour.
There’s also a skywalk connecting the Van Andel to other parking structures in the city.
On super cold days, you can park at the Louis-Campau Public Ramp (943 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids) and walk through the heated walkways to get to the arena. It’s especially nice when the game gets out and the temps have dropped or the snow has started.
There are are several public parking ramps and lots along the Skywalk path, as well as parking provided by the Amway Grand, JW Marriott, and Marriott Courtyard hotels.
You can also park at one of the DASH lots and ride the free bus to the arena if it’s during the DASH hours of operation.
Dress for the Ice & Bring Headphones
Given that it’s ice hockey, the arena is cold. Probably wear long sleeves or bring a warm hat.
Also, the game can get very loud, especially home team goals! If someone in your party is noise sensitive, bring ear muffs or ear plugs.
Got Kids? Arrive Early & Look for the Extra Experiences
Doors open an hour before the game starts and it is definitely worth it to get there early to enjoy the pre-game happenings. The hour before the game starts lets you to watch the teams warm-up on the ice.
On a typical night, you’ll find booths sponsored by local businesses as well as from various clubs associated with the team.
A big hit for kids is the Griffins Kids Club table where you can find coloring sheets and crayons and more.
Kids also love the free arcade area that includes arcade and pinball games.
The start of the game is exciting, too – pyrotechnics and a rock-concert kind of vibes rip through the arena as the Griffins take the ice.
Once the game starts, have your kids try and get on the jumbo screen by showing off their best silly faces or biggest cheers.
And be on the lookout for the t-shirt cannon.
Tune into the on-ice games in between plays, too.
It probably goes without saying that your kids will want to fill up on Dippin dots, soft pretzels, cotton candy, beer and more from the concession stands. (Definitely look for the deal nights to save a buck!)
The Griffins play at Van Andel Arena (130 Fulton St W, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) and a full schedule of upcoming games can be found here.
