Minimum open hours for venues are Monday through Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Friday and Saturday hours are noon – 8:00 PM. Sunday hours are noon – 6:00 PM. If you have a specific venue you aim to see, please check their hours before going. Specific venue hours are available on each Venue Profile.
Check out our Insider ArtPrize Tips for Families for the inside scoop of how to do ArtPrize with kids. Some pointers include:
- If possible, go on a week day! Nights and weekends are always busiest.
- Know where the public restrooms are and plan your trip accordingly. There are restrooms in Ah-Nab-Awen park as well as participating hotels. Also, DeVos Place serves as a good potty stop.
- Bring the smallest stroller you have, or leave it home and opt for the baby carrier. Wagons are not recommended.
- Wear walking shoes.
- Prep for parking. You can learn about GR Meters, ramps and buses here.

Some of my fav artprize INDOOR venues (due to the heat) with multiple pieces of art are: Boardwalk Condos 940 Monroe street parking a park by the river across the street (26 exhibits), DeVos Place has food carts inside, 5/3 Bank has 2 floors, and it sounds like the Artprize hub has kid art. I’m sure there are more but here is a start for our new moms to the area!
LOVED the “Whisper” exhibit at 250 Monroe, and your kids will too!!! The entire building has some fun, interactive pieces…it’s not to be missed 🙂
Does anyone know if there is a Stroller Tour Group scheduled for ArtPrize?
