What to Expect at Camp Curious at the Grand Rapids Public Museum

Join the Grand Rapids Public Museum this summer to explore the wonders of the world around us!

Kids pre-K through high school will have special access to use the Museum as a learning lab, experimenting, creating and discovering.

With a variety of offerings for all ages, Camp Curious begins mid-June and runs through mid-August, 2022.

Camp Curious will be offered at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in small group settings.

Camps provide students with the tools and guidance they need to have fun while learning and making genuine connections to the curriculum and the Museum.

Popular Camp Themes Are Back With Special Programs For Teens and Young Adults

Camp Curious offers single day or multiple day camps and are available by the grade level students will be entering in the fall.

Popular camp themes range from Slimy Science and Fossil Hunters to LEGO® Brick Adventures and Young Wizards Academy and more.

New, in-person camps this year include Flight of the Pterosaur, What’s in the Grand River and more.

This year, the Museum has teamed up with Grand Valley State University's Occupational Therapy Program to offer one-day sessions for teens and young adults with autism ages 16-24.

These sessions will be led by GVSU Occupational Therapy students.

These camps, titled Tales from the Archives, will provide opportunities for neurodiverse teens and young adults to explore the depths of the Museum Archives, meet new people with shared interests, and practice social skills in a structured environment.

With a small team of ‘experts,’ campers will curate an exhibit to display a collection of historic artifacts.

Campers will develop a narrative to share their interpretation of the artifacts in a collaborative and creative way.
