Dairy Discovery is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to provide a personal connection to your food. We complete this through farm tours, summer camps, and other community events and programs – all hosted on a modern-day dairy farm!
Our goal is to explore the farm and journey of milk, grow the next generation of leaders through hands-on experiences, and connect visitors with the animals and farmers who provide nutritious dairy for YOU!
A Closer Look at Dairy Discovery’s Summer Cow Camps
Our summer camps offer the unique opportunity for campers to name and care for their own calf while learning in-depth about daily life on a farm! Even better, they get to show off the skills they learned at our Calf Show at the end of camp!
Some activities your camper can expect is making Cow Chow, milking a cow, making ice cream, making butter, tasting cheese, and MOOre!
There’s a camp for everyone:
Cow Camp 1.0 – Beginner (Ages 6-15)
3-Day Camp (Tuesday-Thursday | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Our fun and engaging hands-on beginner Cow Camp is perfect for those interested in learning basics about life on a dairy farm and dairy nutrition. Campers will care for a calf in pairs and even show off their skills at a Calf Show at the end of the camp!
Cow Camp 2.0 – Novice (Ages 8-16)
3-Day Camp (Tuesday-Thursday OR Monday-Wednesday | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Is your farmer ready to tackle caring for their own calf?! During Cow Camp 2.0, Campers will learn to care for their calf on their own, learn more in-depth farm topics, and show off their skills at a Calf Show at the end of the camp!
Cow Camp 3.0 – Intermediate (Ages 10-17)
3-Day Camp (Tuesday – Thursday | 3:30 – 6:30 PM)
Perfect for our repeat campers that are ready to take a deeper dive into caring for calves and dairy farming! Campers must have attended Cow Camp 1.0 or Cow Camp 2.0 at least 3 times before. Campers must be comfortable with halter training calves.
Preschool Cow Camp (Ages 3-6)
3-Day Camp (Monday, Wednesday & Friday | 9:30 – 11:30 AM)
Join your preschooler for a hands-on farm adventure! With this perfect introduction to farm life, your camper will be begging to come back to Cow Camp 1.0!
1-Day Cow Camp 1.0 (Ages 6-15)
1-Day Camp (Monday OR Friday | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
This camp is perfect for the young farmers that can’t attend our 3-day Cow Camp 1.0! Experience the best of dairy farming in just one day like caring for a calf and other hands-on activities.
Farm Friday Camp (Ages 8-17)
1-Day Camp (Friday | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
