This large park has a playground, pavilion, and gazebo with grills, picnic tables and paved and natural trails for walking or biking.
The trails are short and connect to the fishing lagoon. You can walk the paved trails around the lagoon, crossing three small wooden bridges as you go. This is a favorite spot for kids to look for fish in the lagoon.
The trails through the woods are short and flat, with a natural surface. It's an easy hike to add on to an afternoon at the playground.

The trail is a work in progress and currently consists of two trails, linked by bike lanes.
The first portion, 4.8 miles in length, travels through shaded wooded areas, over rolling hills and under US-131 via a tunnel, where you'll end up in the western suburbs of Kalamazoo.
The trail then brings you through downtown where there are places to stop and grab a drink or a bite to eat.
The second section of the trail is 16 miles. It is hilly and winds, and part of it runs along the Kalamazoo River. This long portion of the trail will give you a bit of everything - suburbs, river views, parks, historical sites, food and drink stops, fishing and more!

Park at Stu Visser Trails and take the Ottawa Beach Road bike path to Holland State Park. You'll pass the entrance to Mt. Pisgah - stop and climb if you want fantastic views.
Spend some time at the Holland State Park beach and then get back on your bikes to pedal up to Tunnel Park for another beach and playground stop.
Next stop: Bowerman Blueberries farm market for some yummy treats (seasonal hours, check before heading out.)
Finally, make your way back to the northern end of Stu Visser Trails. Pedal the natural trails back to your vehicle.
This route follows bike paths along busy roads. Watch out for cars coming in and out on driveways in residential areas.

It's just a 40-minute drive for those used to hiking in Grand Rapids.

Stoney Lakeside Park offers a sandy beach for kids to cool off after playing on the modern play structure.
Visitors will also find an easy spot to launch a kayak or paddleboard, and great fishing spots along the shore.
The dog park is a fenced-in space with benches for owners, and access to the lake (not people friendly). There is also a separate area for small dogs.

The 80-acre Grand River Riverfront Park includes two islands.
The south portion of the park has a canoe launch, two softball fields, a lacrosse field, 8 soccer fields, and a playground with equipment designed for ages 4 to 12. There's also a mile-long paved nature/walking path, a scenic overlook and fishing pier on the Grand River, one large picnic shelter with restroom facilities and one smaller one without. The park is open to the public every day from 8 AM to dusk, except for days that snow or water make driving in the park unsafe. Restrooms are closed from late October until late March.
The North side of the park is easily accessed at the corner of Bowes Road and Fulton Street in Lowell Charter Township. This side of the park has a small playground, gaga ball pit, pickle ball courts, and an ice cream shop (in season)

The trail will bring you through rural areas perfect for seeing lots of wildlife. Mountain bikers, birders and naturalists will find this trail perfect.
Winter riders will enjoy skiing and snowmobiling on the trail.
The town of Covert halfway through offers the only stop on the stretch for a restroom or food break. The last leg of the trail boasts lots of beautiful trees and vineyards.
Van Buren State Park caps the trail and leads to more trails and views of the Lake Michigan shoreline. Trailhead available at Hartford, and parking is available in South Haven near the beginning of the trail.
